STUDENT BULLETIN:

CONGRATULATIONS to Hannah Lockmann, who was selected as the GUHSD Health Pathways November Student of the Month.  Hannah was selected for her impressive work in her Med Chem class.

ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Are you interested in exploring your college major option and career goals?  Would you like to learn some new study strategies to help you with high school and college course work as well as learning some life skills that include time and money management, finding motivation, and handling stress?  You can learn all this while earning 5 high school elective credits and 3college transferable units just by taking a class here on campus after school in the spring.  Classes will be held Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning at 2:15 pm.  See your counselor right away for more information.  Space is limited so you must sign up by early January. 

CONGRATULATIONS to the boys’ varsity soccer team who beat West Hills last night 1-0.  The team is off to a fantastic start to the season staying undefeated at an amazing 6-0-1 record.  Last night’s top players vs. West Hills were goalkeeper Jacob Odenkirk with 14 saves for his 5th shutout of the season as well as Alonzo Dukes who scored the game winning goal set up by Garrett DeRosiers.  Keep up the hard work going in to league after winter break.

THE PURPLE TENNIS NATION league starts in the beginning of January.  Everybody is invited to join.  Players will be grouped by ability.  All those that are playing need to stop by Coach Lelevier’s room today to give contact information.  What a great way to start the New Year….fun and fitness!  Hope to see you soon. 

 

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS:

ZOMBIE CLUB: If you want to survive the Zombie Apocalypse, come join the Zombie Club every Wednesday’s at lunch in Ms. Chandler’s room, S7.  New members are welcome.  We are all infected.

READING CLUB: Meets in the library every Friday at lunch.  If you enjoy a good read and sharing your love for literature, come join us.

KEY CLUB: Want to make quality friends and become more involved in school activities while earning your volunteer hours?  Thursday’s at lunch in Room 107.

A.C.E.: Santana’s Architecture, Construction, and Engineering after school program also known as ACE meets Wednesday’s in 802, right after school at 2:00.  Students who join ACE will have an opportunity to earn high dollar scholarships for participating.  To learn more, come to the meeting or see Mr. Kay for more information.

PEACE COUNCIL: Wednesday’s at lunch in room 105.  We focus on building a better Santana community, community service, and fun activities.  New members are welcome!

SCIENCE FICTION CLUB:  The Sci-Fi Club is open to all on Wednesday at lunch in room 207.  The Sci-Fi Club is a fun place to hang out and eat your lunch.  We will be discussing the new Star Wars Battle Front game.

ECOLOGY CLUB:  There’s just one small thing you can do to improve the environment.  You never know how big the impact will be.  Come find out what it is at the Ecology Club meeting Wednesday at lunch in room S-8.

THE COLOR SPECTRUM CLUB is your Santana LGBT club and meets Thursdays at lunch in room 402.  We invite you to come and hang out, learn about LGBT issues, meet new friends, and help us plan some fun and exciting events.

CHRISTIAN CLUB: Every Thursday at lunch in room 704.

ART CLUB: Wednesdays at lunch in Room 703. No experience necessary and all are welcome.  The more the merrier!

ROBOTIC’S CLUB is meeting in room 307 on Wednesdays to get ready for the competition season! If you would like to be a part of the San Diego and Las Vegas regional competitions, come by and sign up! Build season starts in January and we will be practicing designs and fundraising in December.
