ACADEMIC LEAGUE: Under the leadership of Captain Brandon Tang and Captain Kasey Stoudt, Santana's JV and Varsity Academic league teams defeated Helix by scores of  99-25 and 99-27 and remain undefeated with 9-0 records in league play. The next match is February 24th at El Cajon.

ATTENTION SENIORS! Are you ready for graduation? Make sure to check your GUHSD email account to accept your invitation to the graduation list. Ms Ferrer from the records office has sent out an invitation to your email for you to check the spelling of your name. It is important for you to complete this task before we order your diploma. If you need help or have questions please see Ms Ferrer at the records office. 

BOYS VOLLEYBALL: Tryouts are Monday, February 22, at 4:00 p.m. in the gym. You must be cleared and bring proof of clearance.

HONOR GRADS:  The senior class and the honor grad group photo will be taken on Tuesday during period two. Please show your school spirit and wear purple and gold on Tuesday.

ATTENTION SENIORS: Your Senior Quote and Standout Voting Forms are due, the google survey should be given to you in your English class. If you were not able to take it in class please visit the Yearbook website and click on the link to take you directly to the google form. The yearbook website is on the school website under the student tab. 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Mrs. Thompson will be at Barnes and Noble in the Santee Trolley Center this Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 p.m. signing her book MIRROR X and her latest release, ASCENDANCY. Please give her your support by stopping by.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: We are pleased to announce the “Support a Road Runner Scholarship”. If you graduated from Rio Seco with a current overall GPA of 2.0 then you are eligible to apply. See Mrs. Spenny for application.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: There is a MANDATORY meeting today at lunch in Room 313 for the National Honor Society. Please bring your dues to this meeting.

VARSITY BASKETBALL: Tonight is our last Home game of the season! Come out and watch our Varsity Basketball teams make their final push for CIF! We will be playing El Capitan tonight, so put on those Purple Rain shirts and come support our Sultans!

MR. SANTANA: Calling all Senior and Junior boys, the hunt for our next Mr. Santana is on. Meet with ASB today in room 504 to get all the necessary details. This is a mandatory meeting so don't miss out.

BLOOD DRIVE: Our next blood drive is quickly approaching. Stop by ASB or Mrs. Elliott's art room to pick up a application for an appointment. Get them in first  and have your choice at which time works best for you. Staff, please contact Mrs. Elliott directly if you would also like to donate.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Girls Varsity Basketball team on their victory over Valhalla 41-33. Today will be the girls’ last league home game against El Cap at 5:30. Come out and support tem. JV will be playing at El Cap at 4:30.

CAP AND GOWN:  San Diego Graduate Supply will be here has tomorrow  from 1-3:00 in front of the school.  If you did not receive a cap and gown order form from your government or econ class, please come up to Mrs. King’s office to pick one up. 



ZOMBIE CLUB: If you want to survive the Zombie Apocalypse, come join the Zombie Club every Wednesday’s at lunch in Ms. Chandler’s room, S7.  New members are welcome.  We are all infected.

READING CLUB: Meets in the library every Friday at lunch.  If you enjoy a good read and sharing your love for literature, come join us.

KEY CLUB: Want to make quality friends and become more involved in school activities while earning your volunteer hours?  Thursday’s at lunch in Room 107.

A.C.E.: Santana’s Architecture, Construction, and Engineering after school program also known as ACE meets Wednesday’s in 802, right after school at 2:00.  Students who join ACE will have an opportunity to earn high dollar scholarships for participating.  To learn more, come to the meeting or see Mr. Kay for more information.

PEACE COUNCIL: Wednesday’s at lunch in room 105.  We focus on building a better Santana community, community service, and fun activities.  New members are welcome!

SCIENCE FICTION CLUB:  The Sci-Fi Club is open to all on Wednesday’s at lunch in room 207.  The Sci-Fi Club is a fun place to hang out and eat your lunch.  We will be discussing the new Star Wars Battle Front game.

ECOLOGY CLUB:  The Ecology Club invites you to join us each week.  Come for some fun, learn about ways we can help improve our environment, and hear of some great community service events we having coming up.  We meet at lunch every Wednesday in Room S-8.

THE COLOR SPECTRUM CLUB is your Santana LGBT club and meets Thursdays at lunch in room 402.  We invite you to come and hang out, learn about LGBT issues, meet new friends, and help us plan some fun and exciting events.

CHRISTIAN CLUB: Every Thursday at lunch in room 704.

ART CLUB: Wednesdays at lunch in Room 703. No experience necessary and all are welcome.  The more the merrier!

ROBOTIC’S CLUB is meeting in room 307 on Wednesdays to get ready for the competition season! If you would like to be a part of the San Diego and Las Vegas regional competitions, come by and sign up! Build season starts in January and we will be practicing designs and fundraising in December.
