STUDENT BULLETIN: WINTER FORMAL: Attention Sultans! Your “A Kiss of Winter” Winter Formal is just around the corner. Buy your tickets now in the finance office. Couples w/ ASB cards - $55. Couples w/out - $60. Singles w/ ASB card - $30. Singles w/out - $35. Make sure you get a guest pass approved if you are bringing a guest that does not go to Santana.

HOLIDAY GRAMS: Holiday Grams are being sold in the large quad during lunch now until Wednesday, December 18. Be sure to get that special someone a small gift which will be neatly wrapped with goodies and a personalized message for the holidays. Holiday Grams start out at $1 and will be delivered Thursday morning on December 19.

WINTER ASSEMBLY: The Winter Assembly is December 17th! Make sure you wear your Christmas sweater!

WORK PERMITS: Attention Students – If you need a work permit, please make sure that you get it turned in by Wednesday, December 18 so you will have it by Friday, December 20. Please plan ahead because we will not be issuing any work permits until school resumes in January.

CONGRATULATIONS: Santana’s Varsity Academic League team defeated Mt. Miguel 119-2. Kudos to Spencer Ford who earned 30 of Santana’s points.

SULTAN SCHOLARS: The new fine list is posted in the library for you to check out. Remember, this covers not only library fines, but also PE and textbook fines. This will be updated every month, so come by and check it to make sure your account is clear.

Mrs. Shaw’s senior English class is accepting donations to benefit Store Front, which is an organization to help at risk and homeless teens, ages 12-17. Please donate clothes, hats, accessories that you don’t need anymore. Watch KSUL News for more information. Bring your donations to room 106 or leave it with you English teacher to be picked up.

Adopt-A-Family is taking donations from December 9-18. Please donate to SHS families in need.

Santee Santa’s are collected canned food items from December 9-18. $200 goes to the class that gets the most above 200 cans.

STEP UP CLUB: The Step Up Club will be having their next meeting on Monday, December 9 at lunch in room 111. Please join us to learn more about this club and the tough issues that we will be tackling this year. In this club, which is part of the Peer Supporters, you will learn ways to step up and be able to have the courage to speak up and know what you can do when you are in a tough situation.

SPRING TALENT SHOW: Attention all Drama Club members and anyone interested in participating in the spring talent show in March. Important lunch meeting Monday, December 9th, in Room 104. We will have some theater books with possible monologues and scenes to look through. If you know what song, music, or theater piece you will be performing, please attend as well to start the planning.

SWIM AND DIVE TEAM: Attention all Swimmers & Divers – We will have a quick meeting on Thursday, December 12 at lunch in room 111. Please make sure you attend the meeting if you are interested in joining the swim team. We will discuss the schedule, coaching changes, swim suits, etc. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bagg-Rizzo in room 111.

TRAVEL CLUB: We are set to go to England, Ireland and Wales in nearly 100 days. If you’re not going, it’s okay because we are already planning Spring Break 2015 trip. We will be going to Costa Rica for 10 days. Zip-lining, horseback riding and a white water rafting tour are all included in this adventurous trip of a lifetime. If you’re interested, come to the meeting today at lunch in room 306 for more information. See you there!

SPORTS CLUB: Love sports? Join us every Wednesday at lunch for Sports Club. Look for the sign in front of the gym entrance for the weekly sport.

FINES: A friendly reminder from Mrs. Teschler in the library – The fine list is posted for ALL fines from library fines to textbook fines and anything in between. Check the list for your ID number and see that your account is all cleared, especially you mighty seniors.

ID CARDS: Student ID Cards from Picture Make-Up Day are available for pick-up in the front office at student lunch only.

PARKING STICKER: If you drive your car to school, you must obtain a parking sticker from Mrs. King. Pick up a green application in her office, fill it out, have your parent sign it, and bring it back to her and she will give you a parking sticker. Campus Supervisors will be issuing citations if there is not a sticker on your vehicle.

PEER SUPPORT: Attention students – Are you in conflict with someone on campus? Do you need to resolve an issue with someone else? Maybe you just need someone to talk to? Have you witnessed others around you drinking, smoking, bullying, and cheating on tests? Peer supporters have been trained to help you through those difficult times and teach you how to step up and stand up for what’s right. Peer supporters can also help you and your friend in conflict resolve your issues and find peace again. If you are in need of any help, stop by the guidance office and fill out a peer supporter referral form. Peer supporters are here to help you everyday.
