STAND UP TO BULLYING:  A new group is being organized and students participating in this group will learn strategies for standing up to bullying and different ways to make the situation better and to become empowered.  This group is part of an action research study being completed by Ms. Crandall as part of her Master’s program in School Counseling at USD.  Participation in the group is voluntary and students can join the group based on interest.  All students are free to end their participation in the group at any time, with no negative consequences if they no longer wish to participate.  For more information, please see Ms. Crandall in the counseling office.

ATTENTION YOUNG LADIES: Applications are now being accepted for Miss Singing Hills and Miss Teen Singing Hills held April 5, 2014.  Orientation is March 9th @ Glamour Girlz Boutique, 124 Main St., 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Flyers are available at the office.

SCHOOL PAPER: Did you know that our school has an online newspaper?  News, articles about school, community, and opinions of your peers are all there for your reading pleasure.  Check us out at:

YEARBOOK STAFF: Do you like graphic design or photography?  How about capturing action sports or events?  Or maybe you like talking to people and getting the inside scoop.  If so, consider joining the Yearbook staff.  We are accepting applications for the fall now.  Visit room 501 or go to the school website and under the student tab select the Yearbook link and apply online.

CHEER TRYOUTS: Do you have school spirit and love supporting Santana Athletics?  Then try out for the Santana cheer Team!  Information packets will be available in Ms. King’s office and in Mrs. Dunne’s room – 307 – starting Monday.  The deadline to be cleared and turn in forms is Monday, March 31, so get a packet and start the process early.

FUNDRAISER: Nathan Garret is working on his Eagle Scout project and needs to raise $6,000.  You can help make this a reality by eating at Rubio’s in Santee next Thursday after 4:00 pm.  Please pick up a flyer in the office or from Nathan today and next week.  You must have the flyer for my project to receive a portion of the profits.

ATTENTION SENIORS: Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges are now accepting applications for the Fall Semester.  Visit their websites to complete their online application.  Once your complete the application, you will still need to sign up for an assessment and new student orientation in order to get priority registration for your classes.

CLEAN WATER CLUB: This is a reminder that the Clean Water Club meets each Friday at lunch in Room S-8. And, please keep recycling your cans and bottles in the tan containers in your classroom. Your recycling helps to provide clean drinking water for families in Fiji and around the world. Thank you.

WORK PERMITS: If you are currently employed you MUST have a valid work permit on file. If you are under 18 years of age and working without a work permit both you and your employer are breaking the law! Please stop by and see Ms. Bingham in the front office to pick up a work permit application.

SPORTS CLUB: Love sports?  Join us every Wednesday at lunch for Sports Club.  Look for the sign in front of the gym entrance for the weekly sport.

PARKING STICKER: If you drive your car to school, you must obtain a parking sticker from Mrs. King.  Pick up a green application in her office, fill it out, have your parent sign it, and bring it back to her and she will give you a parking sticker.  Campus Supervisors will be issuing citations if there is not a sticker on your vehicle.

PEER SUPPORT: Attention students – Are you in conflict with someone on campus?  Do you need to resolve an issue with someone else?  Maybe you just need someone to talk to?  Have you witnessed others around you drinking, smoking, bullying, and cheating on tests?  Peer supporters have been trained to help you through those difficult times and teach you how to step up and stand up for what’s right.  Peer supporters can also help you and your friend in conflict resolve your issues and find peace again.  If you are in need of any help, stop by the guidance office and fill out a peer supporter referral form.  Peer supporters are here to help you everyday.
