FRIDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

SUMMER SCHOOL APPLICATIONS are available in the front office and online on the Santana website. Get your application in ASAP as classes fill up fast. Summer School is June 12-June 30. Do not take an online summer school course if you plan to play sports in college as they do not meet the NCAA guidelines. See your counselor if you have any questions.

INFORMATIONAL COLLEGE SEMINAR: Attention all students considering college after high school – AVID Club is hosting an informational seminar to help navigate this system of college applications, financial aid and NCAA Clearance. The cost is $15 per family and will come with a packet of useful information. Hope to see you on May 9th. RSVP to Mrs. Erpelding in room 313 if you will be attending.

NATIONAL ANTHEM AUDITIONS: If you are a senior and would like to audition to sing the National Anthem at Graduation or at Senior Awards, please come by and see Ms. Bingham to sign up. Auditions will take place on Thursday, May 11, during lunch in the gymnasium.

THIS FUNDRAISER TASTES LIKE CHICKEN! Head to Wings N’ Things in Santee on Wednesday from 12-9 pm to support the Class of 2019! Come out, have some wings, and help fundraise while you’re at it!

TRAVEL CLUB: Germany, Austria and Switzerland 2018 will be here before you know it. If you are interested in the trip, but it sounds like too much money, we have a way to help alleviate some of the cost. Come to the meeting in room 705 today at lunch for more information. You may just go for free!

NEED A DRESS FOR PROM? The Rock Thrift Store in El Cajon is hosting a “Blessed with a Dress” Event for any high school girl who needs a helping hand getting a free prom dress. The event is May 6th, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and May 7, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. RSVP your name and school before May 6th to: MARCEHANSON@HOTMAIL.COM

FOOTBALL MEETING: Anyone interested in playing football next year, there will be a meeting today at lunch in the weight room.

CONGRATULATIONS to the swim team for bringing home another consecutive league title. Both the boys and girls went undefeated this season and look to carry this momentum into CIF next week. A special shout-out to Carina Balsley, Jazzy Hanson, Erica Mitchell, and Shelby Johnston for setting the new Santana record in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.27. Go Sultans!

SENIOR SECTION:

ATTENTION SENIORS: If you purchased graduation announcements, come to the table outside of attendance today at lunch to pick them up!

SENIOR PROM TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE! Tickets will be sold from May 1st to May 18th at the price of $25 per person. All fines must be paid and guest passes approved prior to purchase. Gust passes are available with Ms. King in the front office. Prom will be downtown at The Abbey on Fifth this year on Friday, May 19th from 7:30-11 pm. Please join us for our roaring 20’s themed party where there will dancing, photo booths, appetizers and desserts.

ATTENTION SENIORS: If you are attending a 4-year college or join the military, AVID is selling banners that are hung in the library and graduation that you get to keep to recognize your success. Please see Mrs. Erpelding in room 313 for a flyer.

SENIORS, FREE MONEY IS HERE FOR YOU! All you have to do is apply. New scholarships are added weekly. Be sure to check the scholarships on the guidance website for updates and join the scholarship Google classroom. See Mrs. Spenny for the code.

CLUBS:

PEACE COUNCIL: Want to make a difference here at Santana? Come join Peace Council! Meetings are Wednesdays at lunch in room 111.

THE DJ CLUB meets at lunch on Thursday’s to mix and play music in Room S4.

ROBOTIC'S TEAM meets in Ms. Stanley's room 307 Wednesdays at lunch.

ZOMBIE CLUB meets on Monday’s at lunch in Ms Chandler's room S7. New members welcome. Come with ideas on how to survive the Zombie Apocalypse. We are all infected.

ECOLOGY CLUB Come to room S8 on Wednesday at lunch to learn about aquaponics and homegrown, environmentally friendly food.

PING PONG CLUB: The Olympic division plays on Mondays, the Intermediates play on Tuesdays, and the Novice division plays on Wednesdays. Friday is open play. Any and all are still welcome to join. Our first fundraiser begins soon. Come to 704 today to get all the info and to join the Ping Pong rage.
