POWDER PUFF: Your Class of 2017 would like to recognize two specific groups in our school at this time of the school year.  First of all, congratulations to our outstanding athletics teams for wrapping up yet another phenomenal year of competing…but wait, there’s still another important athletic competition left in the school year, Powder Puff.  This year our school is bringing back the all girls, juniors vs. seniors, flag football game.  Boys can be involved also, as cheerleaders!  The game will be held on our home turf Friday, May 20th at 7:00 pm.  Only upperclassmen girls can participate in the game along with junior and senior boys who will be cheering them on.  So, if any of you juniors and seniors are interested, you must come to the meeting next Tuesday, May 10th in Mrs. Bachmann’s room, 306.  Not only will you find out more details about this event, but there are waivers and information for you, so make sure to stop by.

GRADUATION LEIS: Congratulations to all the seniors who have almost finished their high school years at Santana.  If you would like to graduate with a beautiful Hawaiian lei, make sure to pick up information in Mrs. Thompson’s room, 108, or Mrs. Bachmann’s room, 306.  They will be on sale for only $20.  You must order them by June 1st.  Make sure you’ll be looking spiffy on graduation day with your lei and thank you for supporting the Junior Class.

BLOOD DRIVE: ASB’s last Blood Drive on the year is next Thursday, May 12th, in the dance room.  There are permission slips available in the library, in attendance and in Mrs. Elliott’s art room, 702.  White permission slips are for 17 and 18 year olds, the green or yellow slips are for 15 and 16 year old.  All permission slips must have a parent’s signature, even 18 year olds.  To help with appointments, write your student ID and preferred appointment time on the slip.  Permission slips will be accepted no later than Wednesday, May 11th.

CLASS OFFICE: Interested in running for Class Office?  It’s not too late to sign up in ASB.  Class elections will be held Monday through Wednesday, May 23rd through the 25th.  If you are currently a freshman and would like to run, we only have one signed up, so stop by room 504 today.  A mandatory meeting for class office elections will be held next Wednesday to officially apply for office.  Stay tuned for more details.

DODEGEBALL TOURNAMENT: The Five D Dodgeball Tournament is swiftly approaching.  ASB will be hosting the Dodgeball Tourney on Wednesday, May 25th in the gym at 3:30.  If you are fast on your feet, can throw with precision and are great at avoiding flying objects at your head, then the Five D Dodgeball Tourney was made for you.  It’s not too late to pick up packets for your team.  Teams must consist of 6 players.  You must have a name, uniforms, a signed district waiver, and admission fees of $5 per player or $30 per team.  The top two teams will go on to the District Tournament.  If you would rather watch the tournament, tickets will be only $3.  We will be announcing the Class Office winners during the tournament.

SUMMER SCHOOL applications are now available on the website and on the attendance counter.  First come, first serve and spots are limited.

PROM GUEST PASSES are available in Mrs. King’s office.  If you are taking someone that does not attend Santana, you must fill out this guest pass, have it approved by Mrs. King, and take it to the finance office when you buy your Prom bid.  All guests that are 21 and older must be seen by a Vice Principal. Make sure you pay your fines!
