Friday Announcements:

REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS: Once you are on campus you may not leave without permission.

Got Plans? Plan for your future by attending the district sponsored career/college fair at Cuyamaca College on Saturday, October 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  More information, including the program, is available on the district website at www.guhsd.net .

SENIORS: Have you taken the SAT?  The last test date that SDSU and some other colleges will consider when making their admissions decisions is the November test.  The deadline to register is next Friday, October 7th.  Visit collegeboard.com or see your counselor for more information.

PSAT: Juniors, don’t forget to go on the school website and reserve your spot for the PSAT.  It is free for you.  Sophomores must register at the finance office and the cost is $15.

SENIOR VS FACULTY BASKETBALL GAME: All seniors interested in playing in the Senior/Faculty basketball game, there is a meeting today at lunch in the dance room.  The game is next Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and the cost is $3. Homecoming Court will be announced at half time.  Come out and watch “Jumping John” Lelevier and Thea “3’s drainer” Bachmann lead the faculty to another victory.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Frosh, Sophomore, and JV Boys cross country runners for coming in 3rd out of 39 teams in the South Bay Invitational.  Keep up the good work.

PURPLE TENNIS NATION: The ladies of the Purple Tennis nation had a thrilling come-from-behind victory at Granite Hills on Tuesday and fell short of a big comeback at Grossmont last night.  Sydney Benjamin and Melody Benjamin had another gutsy performance in singles.  The doubles play of Nicole Brundage and Maxine Hailey continues to be strong and steady.  We may have missed our chance at league ladies, but there is no better cast of characters anywhere.  Let’s finish strong!  See you all at lunch.

OPEN GYM: All ladies interested in playing Girls’ Basketball are encouraged to come to open gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9:00 p.m.  There is more information on the Santana website.
