STUDENT BULLETIN:

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL NEEDS YOU!  Do you want to make a difference?  Are you interested in the direction Santana High School is going?  Like working with staff, other students and parent?  Then School Site Council is for you.  Students must be nominated and elected to serve on the council, so if you know someone who you think would do a great job, please stop by Ms. Bingham’s desk in the front office and give her your nomination no later than Friday, September 18.

CSF: Only one more week to turn in your CSF applications for this semester.  You snooze, you lose!!  Deadline is Monday, September 28th.

PSAT: Attention 10th & 11th graders: We are offering the PSAT test this year on October 14th.  This is the practice test for the re-designed SAT college entrance test.  Register by bringing $15 to the finance office or purchase online at the Sultan Store.  Sign-ups start Monday, September 21st.  Space is limited.

STUDENT ID CARDS: If you have not picked up your student ID yet, we still have them for you in the library.  Remember to carry your ID with you when you are on campus as proud proof that you are a Sultan.  Starting in October, you must have your card to check out both library and textbooks.  If you need to have your photo taken for your ID, make-up photo day will be next Wednesday, September 23rd.  Go to the Library before school, break or lunch to get your photo taken and dress to impress.  This is your last chance to get your ID card.  ID card replacements cost $10, so hang on to your card.

FRESHMAN CLASS OFFICE: ASB will be holding elections for Freshman Class Office next week.  If you are interested in getting involved with your school, working with your fellow classmates, and raising money for your senior prom, then you should run for office.  Stop by the ASB room today to pick up an application.  Applications are due next Tuesday.

HOMECOMING: Do you want to run for Homecoming King or Queen?  There will be a meeting for homecoming court next Wednesday in the library at lunch.  Please come to the library at the beginning of lunch so you have time to fill out the online application.

Soon we will also be accepting applications for Homecoming escorts.  Stop by ASB next week for your escort application.

WORK PERMITS: If you have a work permit from last school year or even from the summer, it has expired and your employer should not be allowing you to work.  Work permits must be renewed each school year.  If you have not already done so, please come by Ms. Bingham’s desk to request a new work permit application for the 15-16 school year.
